BJP criticises Telugu Desam

T. Rajeshwar Rao, BJP Telangana Udyama Commiittee chairman, alleged here on Saturday that the Telugu Desam was resorting to ‘propaganda' that the Telangana JAC had sold itself to the Congress for weakening the separatist agitation (‘Sakala Janula Samme').

At a press conference, Mr. Rao attributed the TDP's stand to ‘losing its identity' in the region and ‘mortgaging interests to the Seemandhra investors and leaders'. He charged the main Opposition party with trying to weaken the JAC by making motivated allegations. The ‘Samme', he pointed out should have been praised for sacrifices made by the employees, as it was not confined only to the Telangana Rashtra Samiti, but also received support from the BJP, CPI (ML-New Democracy) and CPI.

BJP Wants Manipur Govt. Dismissed

 
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has demanded immediate dismissal of Manipur’s SPF government and imposition of President’s Rule till the fresh elections are conducted in the state. The party said immediate steps are needed to put an end to the economic blockade and do away with the feeling of alienation in the minds of the people of Manipur.


In a memorandum presented to Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh on October 21, BJP president Shri Nitin Gadkari, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Smt Sushma Swaraj and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Shri Arun Jaitely and BJP North-East Sampark Cell national convener Shri Sunil Deodhar termed the situation as grave in the state and demanded immediate intervention of the Centre.

The BJP said that the Prime Minister should lead an all party delegation to Manipur and provide the people of the State a much-needed healing touch. “The Union Government should make every attempt to bring amicable solution regarding Sadar Hills issue at the earliest and effective steps be taken urgently to put a full stop on rampant black marketing. Availability of essential commodities as well as petroleum products in sufficient quantity should be ensured all over the State. Special subsidy/suffering subsidy of Rs. 30,000 per month should be given to each family of the state to compensate the losses during the economic blockade so far. A long-term comprehensive policy for ending insurgency in this State should be framed forthwith while taking all the political parties and the people at large in confidence,” the memorandum said.


Since August 1, Manipur is facing a peculiar situation due to the Sadar Hills Districthood Demand Committee’s (SDDC) agitation by way of the blockade of national Highways 39 and 37. Never in the past, people belonging to any State in India have undergone this kind of aggravation and hardships for no fault of theirs. Human Rights of the citizens are being violated practically everyday. An all pervading cynicism is aiding and abetting anti-national forces. The blockade of highways has caused serious inconveniences to the general innocent public. The supply of essential commodities, petroleum products and life-saving drugs is severely affected and black-marketeers are having a field day. Approximately, after 20 days of total bandh called by SDDC, United Naga Council (UNC) started counter blockade in protest against the demand for creation of Sadar Hills District. As a consequence, the people of Manipur, both in the hills as well as in the valleys, are caught in the crossfire and are suffering in multiple ways,” the memorandum said.


The memorandum further said the Manipur Government has miserably failed in tackling this grave situation. Already, the people of the State have been at the receiving end for more than three decades due to unabated insurgency. “It appears the central government seems to have taken a spectator’s role and no efforts seem to be underway for bringing normalcy in the State. No wonder that the commoners have lost faith in the system and this frustration may lead to yet another severe crisis. In a situation of this kind, anything can happen anywhere at anytime in the State,” the memorandum said.

In Kolhapur Cong Goons Try to Disturb Advani’s Public Meeting, Police Inactive

 

Kolhapur, November 2 :BJP expressed anger over inactiveness of police as Congress goons tried to disturb Lalkrishna Advani’s public meeting in Kolhapur’s Shasane Ground during Jan Chetana Yatra today evening.

Eye witnesses told News Bharati that alleged congress goons continuously cracked fire crackers throughout the time of the public meeting at the compound bordering the Shasane ground that disturbed the public meeting with big noise. Police did not take any action even after repeated complaints from BJP office bearers attending the public meeting.

State BJP President Sudhir Mungantiwar reacted calmly but strongly saying the BJP & the people will answer in democratic way. Disturbing public meetings & Jan Chetana Yatra will not be tolerated, he added. He expressed surprise as the Shasane ground witnessed heavy Police bandobast, but the police did not intervene.

Some people even accused the police authorities for high handedness with the invitees.

When confronted by the media, District Superintendent of Police Shri. Jadhav preferred to ignore the issue. The BJP has accused the Minister of State Shri. Satej Patil for the provocation & the disturbance, as he hails from the city.  

Around ten thousand people attended the public meeting, in which Advani called for strict anti corruption measures & clean governance.

Take up Polavaram immediately: BJP

Centre, State urged not to succumb to pressure from Telangana parties

Visakhapatnam: The city unit of Bharatiya Janata Party wanted the State and Central governments to immediately take up the much awaited Polavaram project without succumbing to pressure by Telangana political party leaders’ demand to cancel the tender process.

Party national executive member Dr K Haribabu told reporters here on Monday that the Polavaram project is the only viable and prestigious project among all 86 projects taken up in Jalayagnam as it provides water to both farm and domestic sectors with less investment. Besides, the project has the unique facility of transferring water from Godavari basin to Krishna basin to irrigate about 13 lakh acres in Krishna district.

He condemned the demand of Telangana leaders to change the project design and to cancel the tender process as ‘design change’ is the lookout of technical experts and not of political leaders. Referring to alleged irregularities in the tender process, he said already a case was pending with the High Court and it would finalise the issue.

Dr Haribabu, while stating that the Polavaram project is the lifeline for East, West, Krishna and north coastal Andhra districts, took strong exception to the TRS attempt to stall the project, adding that “stalling the project means stalling State development”.

He bemoaned that some vested political parties themselves were instigating the neighbouring State governments to file writ petitions in their High Courts against the Andhra Pradesh government by furnishing details of proposed irrigation projects.

“The TRS is claiming that the relatives of Telugu Desam Party bagged the Polavaram project tender while the TDP is alleging against TRS. It is immaterial whether TRS’ relatives will build the project or the TD’s relatives or let TRS and TD take up the project as a joint venture.

But the BJP wants the project to be completed immediately,” Dr Haribabu maintained. He also found fault with the statements issued by some Andhra political leaders, including K Yerrannaidu who demanded to cancel the tender process which is very unfortunate. He asked the Telangana leaders to agitate on their own issues but not at the cost of Polavarm project.

BJP city president M Nagendra demanded the local MPs, MLAs and MLCs to take the lead and mount pressure on Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy pleading him to initiate steps to immediately take up the project work and the Uttarandhra Sujala Sravanthi.

Discounting the opinion of TRS to stall the project by cancelling the tender, he demanded the State government to take up the work at the earliest.

Retired chief engineer (irrigation) S Satyanarayana, Narayana Raju and city general secretary Buddha Lakshminarayana were among those present.

పనాజీ, నవంబర్ 2: అవినీతి, అక్రమార్జన కేసుల్తో సంబంధ ఉన్న కర్నాటక మాజీ ముఖ్యమంత్రి బిఎస్ ఎడ్యూరప్పపై పార్టీ తీసుకున్న చర్యల పట్ల ఎటువంటి పశ్చాత్తాపం లేదని బిజెపి సీనియర్ నాయకుడు ఎల్‌కె అద్వానీ బుధవారం అన్నారు. ‘అక్కడ పార్టీ అవినీతి కుటుంబం ఉచ్చులో చిక్కుకోడం ఒక సమస్య’ అని ఆయన విలేఖరుల సమావేశంలో చెప్పారు. దేశవ్యాప్తంగా ఎల్‌కె అద్వానీ చేపట్టిన అవినీతి వ్యతిరేక జనచేతన యాత్ర బుధవారం 22వ రోజుకు చేరింది. ఈ సందర్భంగా ఆయన మాట్లాడుతూ,‘దీనికి పశ్చాత్తాప పడాల్సిన అవసరం లేదు. అది కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీ అయినా బిజెపి అయినా సరే అవినీతిని మాత్రం కఠినంగా అణచాల్సిందే’ అని అన్నారు. ఎడ్యూరప్ప విషయమై పార్టీలో తలెత్తిన విభేదాలు గురించి ప్రశ్నించినప్పుడు ఆయన ఈ విధంగా స్పందించారు. దక్షిణాదిన తొలి బిజెపి ముఖ్యమంత్రి ఎడ్యూరప్పపై కర్నాటక లోకాయుక్త అవినీతి, ఆశ్రీత పక్షపాతం వంటి నేరాలు ఆరోపించినప్పుడు ఆయనను రాజీనామా చేయాల్సిందిగా బిజెపి పార్టీ కోరింది. ‘లోకాయుక్త నివేదిక అందిన రెండు మూడు గంటల్లోనే ఆయనపై చర్యకు నిర్ణయించాం’ అని ఆయన చెప్పారు.

గోవాలో అక్రమ గనుల వ్యవహారంపై ప్రశ్నించగా, ఈ విషయాన్ని కూడా పార్టీ చిన్న అంశంగా పరిగణించడం లేదని చెప్పారు. ‘గనుల అక్రమతవ్వకాలు చిన్న విషయం కాదు. దీని వల్ల న్యాయంగా గనుల తవ్వకాలు చేపట్టే కంపెనీలు కూడా దెబ్బతింటాయి. అందుకే అటువంటి వ్యవహారానికి అడ్డుకట్టవేసేందుకు పార్టీ సహచరులు గట్టిగా కృషి చేస్తున్నారు’ అని ఆయన తెలిపారు.

‘ప్రధాని కాక ముందు సింగ్ అంటే గౌరవం ఉండేది’

కాగా, ప్రధాని కాక ముందు తనకు మన్మోహన్ సింగ్ అంటే గౌరవం ఉండేదని ఎల్‌కె అద్వానీ బుధవారం వ్యాఖ్యానించారు. మన్మోహన్‌సింగ్‌ను విమర్శించే ఏ అవకాశాన్నీ వదులుకోని అద్వానీ విలేఖరుల సమావేశంలో మాట్లాడుతూ, ‘ప్రధాన మంత్రి కాక ముందు ఆయనంటే గౌరవం ఉండేది. ఎందుకంటే అప్పుడు ఆయన ఏదో చేస్తారన్న అంచనాలు పెద్దగా లేవు’ అని అన్నారు. మాజీ ప్రధాని దివంగత పివి నరసింహారావు మంత్రివర్గంలో ఆర్థిక మంత్రిగా సింగ్ చాలా సమర్ధవంతంగా పనిచేశారని ఆయన చెప్పారు.

మొదట్లో తాను సింగ్‌ను బలహీనమైన ప్రధాన మంత్రి అని పిలిస్తే ప్రజలు అభ్యంతరం తెలిపేవారని కానీ ఇప్పుడు ఆయన ఒక బలహీన ప్రధాని అని ప్రతి ఒక్కరూ భావిస్తున్నారు’ అని అద్వానీ అన్నారు. తాను విమర్శించేటప్పుడు కఠినమైన పదాలను వాడతానని ప్రధాన మంత్రి అంటున్నారని కానీ ‘ఆయన ఒక బలహీనమైన ప్రధాని’ అని అనడం కఠిన పదం కాదని ఆయన అన్నారు. ‘ప్రభుత్వం చాలా విషయాలు గోప్యంగా ఉంచుతోంది. దేశంలోని కుంభకోణాలన్నింటిలో సీనియర్ల పాత్ర గురించి దర్యాప్తు జరగాలి’ అని ఆయన అన్నారు.

న్యూఢిల్లీ, నవంబర్ 2: విదేశీ బ్యాంకుల్లో మూలుగుతున్న నల్లధనం ఖాతాదారుల జాబితాలో కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీకి చెందిన ప్రముఖులు ఉన్నందునే దాన్ని బయట పెట్టేందుకు ప్రభుత్వం వెనుకాడుతోందని బిజెపి ఆరోపించింది. దేశానికి చెందిన 782మంది ప్రముఖులు జెనీవాలోని హెచ్‌ఎస్‌బిసి బ్యాంకులో కోట్లాది రూపాయలనుదాచిన విషయం బయటపడినప్పటికీ ప్రభుత్వం ఇప్పటి వరకూ పెదవి విప్పకపోవటం అనేక అనుమానాలకుతావిస్తోందని పార్టీ అధికార ప్రతినిధి జగత్ సింగ్ లడ్డా బుధవారం ఇక్కడ విలేఖర్లతో అన్నారు.

విదేశీ బ్యాంకులలో వందల కోట్ల రూపాయలు దాచగల వారు కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీలోఎవరికి ఉందో చెప్పవలసిన అవసరం తమకు లేదని ఆయన అన్నారు. దీనిపై అందరికీ కచ్చితమైన అవగాహన ఉందని ఆయన అభిప్రాయపడ్డారు. పన్ను ఎగవేతకు స్వర్గ్ధామంగా మారిన దేశాల నుంచి ఈ సొమ్ము బయటకు తరలి వెళ్లిందని ఆయన చెప్పారు.

నల్లధనం దేశానికి రప్పించడంతో కేంద్రం అలసత్వం ప్రదర్శిస్తోందని, దానికి ముఖ్యకారణం కాంగ్రెస్ అగ్రనాయకులకు విదేశీ బ్యాంకుల్లో ఖాతాలు ఉండటమేనని బిజెపి నేత ఆరోపించారు. పార్లమెంట్ శీతాకాలం సమావేశాలలో ఈవిషయమై ప్రభుత్వాన్ని నిలదీస్తామని ఆయన తెలిపారు. కాంగ్రెస్ ప్రధాన కార్యదర్శి దిగ్విజయ్ సింగ్ అవినీతిని పరోక్షంగా సమర్ధిస్తున్నారని ఆయన విమర్శించారు. 2జి స్పెక్ట్రమ్ కుంభకోణంలో చిదంబరం పాత్ర ఉన్నట్టు తెలిసినా ప్రభుత్వం కాపడుతోందని అన్నారు.

రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వాన్ని కూల్చితేనే కేంద్రానికి బుద్ది వస్తుంది - చెన్నమనేని విద్యాసాగర్‌రావు

కరీంనగర్, నవంబర్ 2 ( ప్రతినిధి): రాష్ట్ర ప్ర భుత్వాన్ని కూల్చితే తప్ప కేంద్రానికి బుద్ధిరాదని స్పష్టమైనందున వచ్చే అసెంబ్లీ సమావేశాల్లో ప్రతిపక్ష పార్టీలు ఆ దిశగా ప్రయత్నించి కాంగ్రెస్‌కు బుద్ధి చెప్పాలని కేంద్ర మాజీ మంత్రి, బీజేపీ సీనియర్ నేత చెన్నమనేని విద్యాసాగర్‌రావు అన్నారు. బుధవారం ఆయన ఇక్కడ ఏర్పా టుచేసిన విలేకరుల సమావేశంలో మాట్లాడుతూ అసెంబ్లీలో రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వానికి 147 మంది సభ్యుల మద్దతు ఉండాల్సిఉండగా 143 మంది మాత్రమే ఉన్నారని, అవిశ్వాస తీర్మానం పెడితే రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం కుప్పకూలుతుందని ఆయన అన్నారు. ప్రధాన ప్రతిపక్ష పార్టీగా తెలుగుదేశంపైనే ఈ గురుతర బాధ్యత ఉందని, చంద్రబాబుకు ఇది అగ్నిపరీక్ష అవుతుందని ఆయన అన్నారు. రెండు సీట్లు ఉన్న బీజేపీ తమకు సలహా ఇచ్చేదేమిటని చంద్రబాబు మాట్లాడటం సరైంది కాదని విద్యాసాగర్‌రావు అ న్నారు.

రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వానికి మెజారిటీ ఉందని, బలనిరూపణ అవసరం లేదని, గవర్నర్ నరసింహన్ ప్రసార సాధనాల ముందు చేసిన ప్రకటన ఆయన హోదాకు తగినది కాదన్నారు. అవిశ్వాసం పెట్టాల్సిన అవసరం లేదని గవర్నర్ పేర్కొనడాన్ని బీజేపీ ఖండిస్తున్నదని ఆయన పే ర్కొన్నారు. అవిశ్వాసం ప్రవేశపెట్టాలంటే గవర్నర్‌ను అడగాల్సిన అవసరం లేదని విద్యాసాగర్‌రావు స్పష్టం చేశారు. తన ప్రకటనకు వివరణ ఇచ్చుకోవల్సిన బాధ్యత గవర్నర్‌పై ఉందని గుర్తు చేశారు.

ప్రజలు గవర్నర్‌ను రీకాల్ చేయమని కోరే అవకాశం ఉందని విద్యాసాగర్‌రావు అన్నారు. ఈ ప్రభుత్వానికి మెజారిటీ లేదని శాసనసభ్యుడు వేణుగోపాలాచారి హైకోర్టును ఆశ్రయించడాన్ని స్వాగతిస్తున్నామని అన్నా రు. ఈ పిటిషన్ హైకోర్టులో ఉన్నా బలనిరూపణ అసెంబ్లీలోనే జరగాలని గతంలో కోర్టు తీర్పులు ఉన్నాయని ఆయన చెప్పారు.

కాంగ్రెస్‌కు రాజీనామా చేసి జగన్ పార్టీలో చేరి కార్యక్రమాల్లో పాల్గొంటున్న వారు అసెంబ్లీలో కాంగ్రెస్‌కు ఓటు వేస్తారని ఎలా అనుకుంటున్నారని, రాజీనామాలు చేసిన వారు వాటిని ఆమోదించాలని పదేపదే కోరే దుస్థితి కలుగుతున్నదని విద్యాసాగర్‌రావు విమర్శించారు. స్పీకర్ వెంటనే రాజీనామాల ఆమోదం పై నిర్ణయం తీసుకోవాలని, ఆయన రాజకీయ ప్రతిష్టంభన కొనసాగాలని నిర్ణయిస్తే ప్రజలు ఊరుకునే స్థితిలో లేరని హెచ్చరించారు. గవర్నర్, స్పీకర్ రాజ్యాంగ బద్ధం గా వ్యవహరించాలని తమ పార్టీ డిమాండ్ చేస్తున్నదని విద్యాసాగర్‌రావు చెప్పారు. తెలంగాణలో గ్రామీణ రుణ విమోచన చట్టాన్ని వెంటనే అమలుచేయాలని ఆయన కోరారు.

పణజి, నవంబర్ 2: ప్రధాని మన్మోహన్‌సింగ్‌పై బీజేపీ అగ్రనేత అద్వానీ మండిపడ్డారు. 2జీ స్కాంలో ప్రధానమంత్రి కార్యాల యం పాత్రేమిటో చెప్పాలని ఆయన డిమాండ్ చేశారు. తాజాగా వివాదాస్పద నోట్ విషయంలో ప్రధాని కార్యాలయం, ఆర్థికమం త్రి ఎంతవరకు బాధ్యులో చెప్పాలని ఆయన గోవా రాజధాని పణజిలో విలేకరులతో మాట్లాడుతూ అన్నారు.

2008లో నాటి ఆర్థికమంత్రిగా చిదంబరం స్పెక్ట్రం వేలానికి పట్టుబట్టి ఉంటే కుంభకోణాన్ని నిరోధించగలిగేవారని చెప్పారు. ప్రధాని కాకముందు మన్మోహన్‌ను తానెంతో గౌరవించేవాడినని అద్వానీ చెప్పారు.

నల్లధనంపై ప్రభుత్వం డొల్లతనం మరోమారు బయటపడింది. విదేశీ బ్యాంకుల్లో మేటలు వేసిన నల్లధనాన్ని వెలికి తీయడంలో చిత్తశుద్ధి కొరవడింది. వేలాది కోట్లు అక్రమంగా విదేశాలకు నల్లకుబేరులు తరలించేస్తున్నారు. వీరి ఆగడాలు యథేచ్ఛగా సాగిపోతున్నాయి. నల్లధనాన్ని దాచుకోడానికి స్విస్ తదితర బ్యాంకులు స్వర్గ్ధామాలు. ఈ బ్యాంకుల్లో కుప్పలు తెప్పలుగా మనదేశానికి చెందిన బడా నేతలు, వ్యాపార వేత్తలు ఖాతాలు తెరిచారు. నల్లధన ప్రవాహం జీవనదిలా సాగిపోతోంది. ఇది ఇప్పుడు బహిరంగ రహస్యం. ఓ చిరుద్యోగి నుంచి ముక్కుపిండి మరీ పన్నులు వసూలు చేస్తున్న యంత్రాంగం బడాబాబులు దొడ్డిదారిలో వేలాది కోట్లు తరలించేస్తుంటే కళ్లప్పగించి చూస్తోంది. విదేశీ బ్యాంకుల్లో అక్రమ సంపాదనలు, పన్నులెగ్గొట్టిన ఆర్జన అంతా ఎంతో సురక్షితంగా ఉంది. అవినీతిని అంతమొందిస్తాం, నల్లధనాన్ని వెలికి తీస్తామంటూ ఉపన్యాసాలతో ఏలికలు ఏళ్లూపూళ్లూ గడిపేస్తున్నారే తప్ప ఈ దిశగా తీసుకున్న చర్యలు కనబడడం లేదు. ఇప్పుడు తాజాగా జెనీవాలోని హెచ్‌ఎస్‌బిసిలో రహస్య ఖాతాలున్న భారత నల్ల కుబేరుల జాబితా వెలుగులోకి వచ్చింది. భారత ప్రభుత్వానికి ఫ్రాన్స్ అందజేసినట్టుగా చెబుతున్న ఈ జాబితాలో ఏకంగా 700పై చిలుకు అపర కుబేరులున్నారు. వీరిలో ముగ్గురు ఎంపీలు కూడా ఉన్నారన్న వార్తలు కలకలం రేపుతున్నాయి. ప్రజాప్రతినిధులే అడ్డంగా దేశాన్ని దోచి మూటగట్టి విదేశాల్లో దాచి పెట్టడం విస్తుగొల్పుతోంది. వీరిలో అధికార పక్షీయులెవరో తెలీదు.. ఒక వేళ తెలిసినా వారి వివరాలు యుపిఏ సర్కారు బయటపెడుతుందన్న నమ్మకమూ లేదు. ఇప్పటికే కామనె్వల్త్, 2-జి కుంభకోణాల్లో పీకల్లోతు కూరుకుపోయిన యుపిఏ సంకీర్ణంలోని నేతలెవరైనా ఈ జాబితాలో ఉంటే, ఆ వివరాలు బయటపెట్టి తన గొయ్యి తానే తవ్వుకోదు. అందుకేనేమో ఒప్పందం ప్రకారం ఈ జాబితాలోని పేర్లను ఈ దశలో బయటపెట్టలేమని కేంద్ర ఆర్థిక మంత్రి ప్రణబ్ ముఖర్జీ తేల్చి చెప్పారు. మరెప్పుడు బయట పెడతారో మంత్రివర్యులకే తెలియాలి. నల్లడబ్బు వెనక్కి రప్పించడంలో కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వ నిష్క్రియాపరత్వాన్ని అర్థం చేసుకున్న అత్యున్నత న్యాయస్థానం (సుప్రీంకోర్టు) కలుగజేసుకుంది. నల్లధనం వెలికి తీసేందుకు ప్రత్యేక దర్యాప్తు బృందం (సిట్)ను ఏర్పాటు చేయాలని ఆదేశించింది.

మన దేశంలో అపర కుబేరులకు కొదవ లేదు. ఆబాపతు ఘనుల సంఖ్య లక్షకు దాటింది. ఇది ప్రపంచ వ్యాప్తంగా అందరికీ తెలిసిన విషయమే. ఇప్పుడు భారత్‌లో నల్లకుబేరుల సంఖ్యా పెరుగుతోందన్నది విస్మయం కలిగిస్తోంది. విదేశీ బ్యాంకుల్లో మూలుగుతున్న నల్లడబ్బులో అత్యధిక శాతం భారతీయులదే. నల్లధనంలో మనవాళ్లు అభివృద్ధి చెందిన దేశాలను మించిపోయారు. ఒకప్పుడు ఆంగ్లేయుల పాలనలో దేశ సంపద విదేశాలకు తరలిపోయిందని చదువుకున్నాం. ఇప్పుడు ఆ పనిని మనవాళ్లే యథేచ్ఛగా చేసేస్తున్నారు. అధికారులు, నేతలు, వ్యాపారవేత్తలు అక్రమార్జనను గుట్టుచప్పుడు కాకుండా విదేశాల్లో జమ చేస్తున్నారు. కాంట్రాక్టులు, అధికార దుర్వినియోగాలతో ఆర్జించిన మొత్తాన్ని ఇలా తరలించేస్తున్నారు. పన్నులు చెల్లించకుండా దాచిపెట్టిన సొమ్మును ఏయేటికాయేడు మూటగట్టేస్తున్నారు. దేశ ఖజానాకు గండి కొడుతున్నారు. ఒక్కొక్కటిగా వెలుగు చూస్తున్న స్కాములలో కోట్లాది రూపాయలు గల్లంతయ్యాయి. సరళీకరణ పేరుతో నిబంధనలకు నీళ్లొదిలి గేట్లు బార్లా తెరవడంతో విదేశీ బ్యాంకులు నల్లధనానికి కేరాఫ్ అడ్రస్‌గా మారుతున్నాయి. అసలు ఈ బ్యాంకుల్లో భారత్‌కు చెందిన వారి ఖాతాల కింద ఎంత డబ్బుందో ఇప్పటికీ సరైన సమాచారం లేదు. ఇదీ నల్లధనం వెలికితీతపై మన ఏలికలకు ఉన్న చిత్తశుద్ధి. 45 కోట్ల బీదలు కనీస అవసరాలకు నోచక విలవిల్లాడుతున్న భారతం ఒకవైపు.. దేశాన్ని కొల్లగొట్టి లక్షలాది కోట్లు విదేశాల్లో దాచేస్తున్న నల్లకుబేరులు ఒక వైపు. ఇంత జరుగుతున్నా కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వంలో చలనం రాదా..? మొన్న స్విస్, ఇప్పుడు హెచ్‌ఎస్‌బిసి రేపు మరొక బ్యాంకులో.. ఇలా నల్లధనం అడ్డూఅదుపూ లేకుండా పెరిగిపోతోంది.

సర్కారు ఖజానాకు సంపన్నుల పన్ను ఎగవేత ఓ సవాలుగా మారుతోంది. నల్లధనాన్ని దాచిపెడుతున్న బ్యాంకుల పనిపట్టేందుకు నిబంధనలను మరింత కఠినతరం చేయాల్సిన అవసరం ఉంది. ఆయా బ్యాంకుల నుంచి ఈ మేరకు సమాచారం తెప్పించుకునేందుకు కృషి చేయాలి. ఇందు కోసం స్విట్జర్లాండ్, తదితర దేశాలతో ద్వైపాక్షిక ఒప్పందానికి చొరవ చూపాలి. దాదాపు 90 దేశాలతో స్విస్ ప్రభుత్వం ఈ మధ్యనే ఇటువంటి ఒప్పందం చేసుకుంది. నల్లకుబేరుల సమాచారాన్ని వెల్లడించేందుకు ఆ దేశ ప్రభుత్వంపై తీవ్ర ఒత్తిడి తేవాలి. ఇది అసాధ్యమేమీ కాదు. తమ దేశానికి చెందిన నాలుగు వేల పైచిలుకు రహస్య ఖాతాల వివరాలను బహిర్గతం చేసేందుకు స్విస్ ప్రభుత్వంతో అమెరికా ఈ మధ్యనే ఒప్పందం చేసుకుంది. ఈ విషయంలో అమెరికా ఆదర్శంగా నిలిచింది. కానీ, నల్లధనం వెనక్కి రప్పించడం మన దేశంలో ఒక రాజకీయ నినాదంలా మారిపోయింది. అధికార పక్షాన్ని ఇరుకున పెట్టేందుకు ప్రతిపక్షాలు వీలైనప్పుడల్లా నల్లధనం అంశాన్ని తెరపైకి తెస్తున్నాయి. ఇప్పుడు తాజాగా ఫ్రాన్స్ అందజేసిన 700 పైచిలుకు హెచ్‌ఎస్‌బిసి ఖాతాల విషయంలోనూ రానున్న శీతాకాల సమావేశాలను దృష్టిలో పెట్టుకుని ప్రతిపక్షం నానాయాగి చేస్తోంది. అందుకు తగ్గట్టుగానే యుపిఏ సర్కారు కూడా ఎన్డీఏ అధికారంలో ఉన్నప్పుడు తమరేమి చేశారంటూ తప్పించుకునే ప్రయత్నం చేస్తోంది. నల్లధనం ఒక రాజకీయ అస్త్రంగా మారింది. అవినీతిపై దేశ ప్రజల్లో పెరుగుతున్న అసహనానికి అన్నా హజారే ఉద్యమానికి వచ్చిన స్పందనే నిదర్శనం. అవినీతిపై ప్రజల్లో పెల్లుబుకుతున్న ఆగ్రహాన్ని గ్రహించి అవినీతి అంతమే లక్ష్యమని రాష్టప్రతి ప్రతిభా పాటిల్, అదే తక్షణ కర్తవ్యమని ప్రధాని మన్మోహన్ సింగ్ ఇటీవల జరిగిన గవర్నర్ల సదస్సులో ఉద్ఘాటించారు కూడా. దేశ ఆర్థిక స్వరూపానే్న మార్చేయగల నల్లధనం వెలికితీతపై ఏలికలు ఇప్పటికైనా శ్రద్ధ చూపాలి. కేవలం జాబితాల విడుదల, వాటిపై విచారణ అంటూ కాలయాపన తగదు. విదేశీ బ్యాంకుల్లో నల్లధనాన్ని పోగేసిన బడాబాబుల వివరాలపై గోప్యత లేకుండా పారదర్శకంగా వ్యవహరించాల్సిన సమయమిదే. నల్లధనాన్ని దేశానికి రప్పించేందుకు తక్షణం నడుం బిగించాలి. ఖాతా జాబితాలను ఇచ్చిపుచ్చుకునే ఒప్పందాలను ఆయా దేశాలపై ఒత్తిడి తెచ్చి అయినా చేసుకోవాలి. తమ్ముడు తన వాడైనా.. అన్న రీతిలో స్వపక్షీయులైనా నల్లకుబేరులపై కఠిన చర్యలు తీసుకుంటేనే అవినీతికి చరమ గీతం పాడగలం. నాన్చుడు ధోరణితో కాలం వెల్లదీయాలని చూస్తే ప్రజాగ్రహానికి గురికాక తప్పదన్న సత్యాన్ని ఏలికలు గ్రహించాలి. నల్లకుబేరుల ఆటలు కట్టించాలి.

అస్మదీయులకే భవానీ ద్వీపం - ఏటా రూ. 1.11 కోట్ల లీజుకే ‘గంటా’కు అప్పగింత తెరవెనుక చక్రం తిప్పిన సర్కారు పెద్దలు నేడో రేపో జీవో జారీ

హైదరాబాద్, న్యూస్‌లైన్: కనకదుర్గమ్మ కంటినీడలో... ప్రకాశం బ్యారేజీ పక్కనే... కృష్ణమ్మ ఒడిలో కొలువుదీరిన ప్రఖ్యాత పర్యాటక క్షేత్రం భవానీ ద్వీపం ఇప్పుడు ప్రైవేటుపాలు కాబోతోంది. కుటీరాలు, బోటింగ్ జట్టీలు, ఓపెన్ ఎయిర్ థియేటర్, రెస్టారెంట్లతో 133ఎకరాల విస్తీర్ణంతో పర్యాటకులను విశేషంగా ఆకట్టుకుంటున్న ఈ ద్వీపాన్ని అస్మదీయులకు అప్పగించేందుకు సర్కారు సిద్ధమైంది. కాంగ్రెస్ సరికొత్త నేత చిరంజీవికి అత్యంత సన్నిహితుడు ఎమ్మెల్యే గంటా శ్రీనివాసరావుకు చెందిన సంస్థకు కేవలం ఏడాదికి రూ.1.11 కోట్ల లీజుకే అప్పగించేందుకు ఏర్పాట్లు పూర్తయ్యాయి. ఈమేరకు సర్కారు పెద్దలు తెరవెనుక పెద్ద ఎత్తున మంత్రాంగం నడిపినట్లు తెలుస్తోంది. నేడో రేపో ఉత్తర్వులు వెలువడనున్నట్లు సమాచారం. ‘ఇంటిగ్రేటెడ్ టూరిజం ప్రాజెక్టు అభివృద్ధి’ పేరిట విజయవాడ భవానీ ద్వీపాన్ని ప్రైవేటీకరించాలని రాష్ట్ర పర్యాటక అభివృద్ధి సంస్థ(ఏపీటీడీసీ) నిర్ణయించింది. ప్రభుత్వ, ప్రైవేటు భాగస్వామ్యంలో బిల్డ్-ఆపరేట్-ట్రాన్స్‌ఫర్(బీవోటీ) ప్రాతిపదికన రూ. 60 కోట్ల వ్యయంతో అభివృద్ధి చేయడానికంటూ గత ఏడాది సెప్టెంబర్‌లో టెండర్లు ఆహ్వానించింది. కాన్ఫరెన్స్ హాళ్లు, రెస్టారెంట్లు, కాటేజీలు, వెల్‌నెస్ జోన్ (హెల్త్ స్పా, రిసార్ట్స్, యోగ, ధాన్యం, స్విమ్మింగ్ పూల్స్, హెర్బల్ గార్డెన్), ఎంటర్‌టైన్‌మెంట్ జోన్ (మినీ గోల్ఫ్ కోర్సు, క్రాఫ్ట్ విలేజ్)తో పాటు సాధారణ మౌలిక సదుపాయాలు కల్పించాలని పేర్కొంది. ఆ మేరకు అభివృద్ధి చేసినందుకు 33 సంవత్సరాల పాటు లీజుకు ఇచ్చేందుకు సంసిద్ధత వ్యక్తంచేసింది. ఈ మేరకు తొలి సంవత్సరం రూ. 1.11 కోట్లు చెల్లిస్తానని, ప్రతి రెండేళ్లకు 10 శాతం చొప్పున పెంచుతామని కాంగ్రెస్ ఎమ్మెల్యే గంటా శ్రీనివాసరావుకు చెందిన కంపెనీ ‘అధిక మొత్తానికి టెండర్లు’ దాఖలు చేసింది. 20 సంవత్సరాల తర్వాత నుంచి 33 సంవత్సరం వరకు అధిక మొత్తం లీజు ఇవ్వడానికి సంసిద్ధత వ్యక్తం చేసింది. దీంతో అధికమొత్తం కోట్ చేసిన ఆ కంపెనీకి ద్వీపాన్ని అప్పగించాలని ఏపీటీడీసీ నిర్ణయించినట్లు సమాచారం. ఈమేరకు ఒకట్రెండు రోజుల్లో జీవో కూడా వెలువడనుందని అధికార వర్గాల సమాచారం. అయితే 33 సంవత్సరాల్లో అభివృద్ధి చేయాలనడమే తప్ప ఎప్పుడు మొదలు పెట్టి ఎప్పుడు పూర్తి చేయాలనే నిబంధన ఏమీ లేకపోవడం గమనార్హం. కొద్దిపాటి మౌలిక సదుపాయాలు అభివృద్ధి చేసి భారీగా వ్యాపారం చేసుకొన్నా లాభాల్లో వాటా అడిగే హక్కును ఏపీటీడీసీ కోరకపోవడం అనుమానాలకు తావిస్తోంది. టెండర్లలో పేర్కొన్న విధంగా మౌలిక సదుపాయాలు కల్పించకుండా తూతూమంత్రం సౌకర్యాలతో 33 సంవత్సరాల పాటు వ్యాపారం చేసుకొని కాంట్రాక్టర్ వెళ్లిపోయినా ప్రశ్నించే హక్కు ఏపీటీడీసీకి లేకపోవడం గమనార్హం. ఉద్యోగుల్లో వ్యతిరేకత: ప్రస్తుతం భవానీ ద్వీపంలో 24 గదులు, రెండు రెస్టారెంట్లు, సమావేశ మందిరం, మూడు చెట్ల మీద కుటీరాలు, ఓపెన్ ఎయిర్ థియేటర్, బోటింగ్ జట్టీలు.. తదితర సౌకర్యాలున్నాయి. సరాసరిన 70 శాతం ఆక్యుపెన్సీతో పర్యాటకులను ఆకట్టుకుంటోంది. మరికొన్ని అదనపు సౌకర్యాలు కల్పిస్తే పర్యాటకుల సంఖ్య, ఆదాయం పెరిగే అవకాశమున్న ద్వీపాన్ని కేవలం రూ.1.11 కోట్ల లీజుకు ప్రైవేటు సంస్థకు అప్పగించడంపట్ల ఉద్యోగులు వ్యతిరేకత వ్యక్తంచేస్తున్నారు. అయితే మంత్రుల సాధికార కమిటీ ఆమోదంతోనే భవానీ ద్వీపం ప్రైవేటీకరణకు టెండర్లు పిలిచామని, తమ పాత్ర పరిమితమేనని ఏపీటీడీసీ అధికార వర్గాలు తెలిపాయి.

నడిరోడ్డుపై నిలువు దోపిడీ! - 'నామా' జాతీయ రహదార్ల నిర్మాణంలో కోట్ల రూపాయలు కొల్లగొట్టిన వైనాన్ని ఆంగ్ల వార పత్రిక ‘తెహల్కా’ బట్టబయలు చేసింది.

రూ. 327 కోట్ల కాంట్రాక్టులో అన్నీ లొసుగులే పనులు పూర్తి కాకుండానే టోల్ వసూళ్లు దర్యాప్తు పేరిట కాలయాపన చేసి కేసు మూసేసిన సీబీఐ న్యూఢిల్లీ, సాక్షి ప్రతినిధి:తెలుగుదేశం పార్టీ అధ్యక్షుడు చంద్రబాబు నాయుడుకు అత్యంత సన్నిహితుడు, తెలుగుదేశం పార్లమెంటరీ పార్టీ నాయకుడు నామా నాగేశ్వరరావు జాతీయ రహదార్ల నిర్మాణంలో కోట్ల రూపాయలు కొల్లగొట్టిన వైనాన్ని ఆంగ్ల వార పత్రిక ‘తెహల్కా’ బట్టబయలు చేసింది. ఈ వ్యవహారంపై ఎఫ్‌ఐఆర్ దాఖలు చేసిన సీబీఐ ఏడాది తిరగకుండా కేసును మూసేసిన వైనం పలు అనుమానాలకు తావిస్తోందని అక్టోబర్ 29నాటి సంచికలో ఆ పత్రిక వ్యాఖ్యానించింది. జాతీయ రహదార్ల కుంభకోణం బయటపడితే యూపీఏ ప్రభుత్వంలో మరికొందరి జాతకాలు బయటపడే ప్రమాదం ఉందని గ్రహించడం వల్లే కేంద్రం సీబీఐ నోరునొక్కేసిందని రాజకీయ పరిశీలకులు భావిస్తున్నారు. ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌లో తనకు లోపాయికారీగా సహకరిస్తున్న తెలుగుదేశంకు పనిలో పనిగా సాయపడటం కోసం నామా కంపెనీపై దర్యాప్తును నీరుగారేలా చేసిందని అంటున్నారు. నిబంధనలు తోసిరాజని అడ్డగోలు వసూళ్లు తమిళనాడులోని ఎన్ హెచ్7పై కరూర్ బైపాస్ నుంచి దిండిగల్ వరకూ గల 68 కిలోమీటర్ల జాతీయ రహదారి నిర్మాణానికి, 13 కిలోమీటర్ల కరూర్ బైపాస్‌ను మెరుగుపర్చడానికి 2006 ఏప్రిల్ 20న జాతీయ రహదార్ల అథారిటీ(ఎన్‌హెచ్‌ఏఐ)తో మధుకాన్‌కు ఒప్పందం కుదిరింది. దీని ప్రకారం రెండు రహదార్లనూ నిర్మాణం, నిర్వహణ, బదిలీ(బీఓటీ) ప్రాతిపదికన నిర్మించి 20 ఏళ్లపాటు మధుకాన్ నిర్వహిస్తుంది. ఆ తర్వాత వాటిని జాతీయ రహదార్ల అథారిటీకి అప్పగిస్తుంది. అంటే, ఈ ప్రాజెక్టు పూర్తయిన తేదీనుంచి 20 ఏళ్లపాటు మధుకాన్‌కు ఆ రహదార్లపై టోల్‌గేట్ వసూలు చేసుకునే అధికారం ఉంటుంది. 327 కోట్ల రూపాయల ఈ ఒప్పందంలోని నిబంధనలన్నిటినీ మధుకాన్ ఉల్లంఘించింది. నిర్మాణాలు సరిగా పూర్తికాకుండానే ఎన్‌హెచ్‌ఏఐ అధికారులతో కుమ్మక్కై టోల్ వసూళ్లు ప్రారంభించింది. ఈ వసూళ్లు రోజుకు దాదాపు లక్షన్నర రూపాయలు ఉంటాయని సీబీఐ అంచనా వేసింది. నిబంధనలకు విరుద్ధంగా కాంట్రాక్టర్లను ఇలా అక్రమ వసూళ్లకు అనుమతించినందుకు, ఆ రహదారిపై ప్రయాణించేవారి ప్రాణాలతో చెలగాటం ఆడినందుకు చెన్నైలోని ఎన్‌హెచ్‌ఏఐ చీఫ్ జనరల్ మేనేజర్ ఎస్. ఎస్. సింఘ్వీని బాధ్యుడిగా గుర్తిస్తూ ఆయనపై కేసు నమోదు చేసింది. సింఘ్వీ సుప్రీంకోర్టు న్యాయమూర్తి జస్టిస్ జి.ఎస్. సింఘ్వీకి స్వయానా సోదరుడని ‘తెహెల్కా’ పత్రిక వివరించింది. సీబీఐ మధుకాన్ కంపెనీపై కూడా కేసులు పెట్టింది. ఈ కేసుతోపాటు మరో నిర్మాణ సంస్థ ఇందూ-నవయుగ ఇన్‌ఫ్రా ప్రైవేట్ లిమిటెడ్‌పై కూడా ఇంకో కేసు నమోదైంది. ఈ కేసులో సైతం సింఘ్వీని బాధ్యుణ్ణి చేసింది. ఇదంతా 2009 నవంబర్ 9న జరిగింది. అయితే, ఆశ్చర్యకరంగా ఏడాది తర్వాత మధుకాన్‌కు సంబంధించిన కేసులో ‘వాస్తవానికి సంబంధించిన లోపం’(మిస్టేక్ ఆఫ్ ఫ్యాక్ట్) ఉందంటూ దాన్ని మూసేసింది. అలాగే..సింఘ్వీ చర్యలో తమకు ‘దురుద్దేశం’ ఏదీ కనబడలేదని, అయితే, కాంట్రాక్టర్‌ను టోల్ వసూళ్లకు అనుమతించడంలో అనవసరమైన తొందర కనబరిచినందున ఆయనపై శాఖాపరంగా ‘తగిన చర్య’ తీసుకోవచ్చని కేసును మూసేస్తూ సమర్పించిన నివేదికలో సీబీఐ పేర్కొంది. సీబీఐ నివేదికలో లోపాలెన్నో... మధుకాన్ విషయంలో సింఘ్వీ అడ్డగోలు అనుమతులిచ్చారని ఎఫ్‌ఐఆర్‌లో పేర్కొన్నా, తమ దర్యాప్తులో అది రుజువు కాలేదని సీబీఐ ‘ముగింపు నివేదిక’లో తెలియజేసింది. అయితే, ఈ ప్రక్రియలో జరిగిన అవకతవకలను సీబీఐ సరిగా పట్టించుకోలేదు. జాతీయ రహదార్ల నిర్మాణానికి సంబంధించిన పనులను పర్యవేక్షించి, సర్టిఫై చేసే ఎగిస్ బిసియామ్ ఇంటర్నేషనల్ సంస్థ వద్దకు ధ్రువీకరణ కోసం మధుకాన్ వెళ్లినప్పుడు అందుకు ఆ సంస్థ నిరాకరించింది. నిబంధనల ప్రకారం ఉంటేనే అనుమతిస్తానని ఆ సంస్థ కన్సల్టెంట్‌గా ఉన్న ఇయాన్ ప్రాగ్నెల్ స్పష్టంచేశారు. ఇది 2009 ఆగస్టులో జరిగింది. అయితే, అదే సంవత్సరం అక్టోబర్‌లో తన డిప్యూటీ విశ్వనాథరావుకు బాధ్యతలు అప్పగించి ప్రాగ్నెల్ సెలవుపై వెళ్లారు. ఇదే అదునుగా భావించి విశ్వనాథరావు ద్వారా మధుకాన్ ధ్రువీకరణను సంపాదించింది. దాని ప్రాతిపదికగా టోల్ వసూళ్లకు అనుమతి సైతం పొందింది. ఈలోగా సెలవునుంచి తిరిగొచ్చిన ప్రాగ్నెల్ ఈ పరిణామంపై ఆగ్రహం వ్యక్తంచేశారు. తాను లేనప్పుడు ఇలా ధ్రువీకరణ పత్రం ఇచ్చే అధికారం విశ్వనాథరావుకు లేదని స్పష్టంచేస్తూ ఎన్‌హెచ్‌ఏఐకి ఘాటుగా లేఖ రాశారు. అసంపూర్ణ నిర్మాణాలపై టోల్ వసూళ్లు చేస్తున్నందుకు మధుకాన్‌పై 5.95 కోట్ల రూపాయల జరిమానా విధించాలని చేసిన సిఫారసుకు సైతం దిక్కులేదు. దర్యాప్తు చేసినప్పుడు వెల్లడైన ఈ అంశాలను సీబీఐ పట్టించుకోలేదు. దాడుల్లో దొరికినవెన్నో...: దర్యాప్తులో భాగంగా సీబీఐ చెన్నై, ఢిల్లీ, జైపూర్ నగరాల్లోని సింఘ్వీ కార్యాలయాలు, ఇతర గృహాలపై దాడులు చేసింది. అందులో కోటి రూపాయలకు పైగా విలువచేసే ఆస్తులకు సంబంధించిన పత్రాలు, వివిధ బ్యాంక్‌లకు చెందిన 30 పాస్‌బుక్‌లు, 4.70 లక్షల నగదు, అర కిలో బంగారం, నిబంధనలకు విరుద్ధంగా ఇంట్లో ఉంచుకున్న ఎన్‌హెచ్‌ఏఐ ఫైళ్లు లభ్యమయ్యాయి. సింఘ్వీకి కాంట్రాక్టర్లు బహూకరించిన లాప్‌టాప్‌లు, సెల్‌ఫోన్‌లు పెద్ద సంఖ్యలో దొరికాయి. తమిళనాడు, ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌లలోని కాంట్రాక్టర్ల ఇళ్లలో కూడా దాడులు చేశారు. కేసును మూసేస్తున్నప్పుడు సీబీఐ ఈ వాస్తవాలన్నిటినీ ఎందుకు విస్మరించిందో అంతుపట్టని అంశం. ఇక మధుకాన్ విషయానికొస్తే.. పనులు నాసిరకంగా చేయడం, వాటిని పూర్తి చేయడంలో అపరిమిత జాప్యం వంటి అంశాలపై దాన్ని ఎన్‌హెచ్‌ఏఐ పలుమార్లు హెచ్చరించిన సందర్భాలున్నాయి. అయినా, ఆ సంస్థను ఎందుకు బ్లాక్ లిస్టులో పెట్టలేదో, దానికి ఎందుకు పెనాల్టీలు విధించలేదో ఆశ్చర్యం కలిగిస్తుంది. ఇవన్నీ తప్పించుకోవడమే కాదు..ఏకంగా దొడ్డిదారిన ధ్రువీకరణ తెచ్చుకుని టోల్ వసూళ్లు సైతం ప్రారంభించింది. ఇన్ని వాస్తవాలు ఎదురుగా కనబడుతున్నా దర్యాప్తు పేరుతో ఎంతో సమయం తీసుకున్నాక కూడా కేసును సీబీఐ ఎలా మూసేసిందని పరిశీలకులు ఆశ్చర్యం వ్యక్తంచేస్తున్నారు. జవాబు దొరకని ప్రశ్నలు అధికారుల అండదండలు పుష్కలంగా ఉన్నవారిపై అవినీతి ఆరోపణలు వచ్చినప్పుడు సీబీఐ ఎంత ఉదాసీనంగా వ్యవహరిస్తుందో చూడటానికి మధుకాన్ కేసే ఉదాహరణ. వాస్తవానికి గత మూడేళ్లలో జాతీయ రహదార్ల నిర్మాణంలో చోటుచేసుకుంటున్న అవకతవకలకు సంబంధించి సీబీఐకి వంద కుపైగా ఫిర్యాదులు అందాయి. ప్రైవేటు డెవలపర్లు, ఎన్‌హెచ్‌ఏఐ అధికారులు కుమ్మక్కై వందల కోట్ల ప్రజాధనాన్ని దోచుకుంటున్నారని ఈ ఫిర్యాదుల సారాంశం. అయితే, సీబీఐ వీటిల్లో మూడంటే మూడే ఫిర్యాదులు దర్యాప్తునకు అర్హమైనవాటిగా పరిగణించడం గమనార్హం. ఈ మూడింటి లో మధుకాన్‌పై ఉన్న కేసును మూసేస్తూ చెన్నైలోని ప్రిన్సిపల్ సెషన్స్ జడ్జి ఎదుట సీబీఐ ఒక నివేదికను దాఖలు చేసింది. A love story ‘murdered’ in Srinagar

Rajneesh was a small trader from Jammu often going on business trips to Srinagar. He fell in love with a girl and married her.

He wanted to be faithful to his beloved from Srinagar, who was beautiful and had unflinching trust in her life partner. It’s difficult, if not impossible, to have love bloom between Jammu and Srinagar. But it was more than that. The boy from Jammu was a Hindu and the girl from Srinagar, a Muslim. Ameena was her name and she changed her name to Anchal Sharma after marriage.

A month after the marriage the boy was picked up from his Jammu house by the Kashmir police and taken to Srinagar for "investigation". The police never registered his name, Rajneesh Sharma, as the accused who is being taken to Srinagar, but instead named his brother Pawan Sharma in police records, to confuse and hide the real identity.

The smell of a plot was there the moment they took the boy hustled in a jeep and covered with a blanket.

The boy never returned home to celebrate his first Diwali with Anchal nee Ameena.

He was found dead hanging with an iron grill in his Srinagar cell. Police said he committed "suicide". An inconsolable Anchal alleged that her parents bribed police to murder her beloved because he dared to marry a Muslim girl from the valley. Anchal’s father works in Srinagar’s police department, hence the influence was obvious.

This week Anchal would have been celebrating Diwali with her husband Rajneesh but for if this ultimate Taliban act. Surprisingly the incident, so brutal and tragic hasn’t found an echo in the elite human-rightist circles of Delhi and the self-righteous media which had taken up the Rizwan case of Kolkata at a greater war footing than it has shown regarding Chinese incursions.

The writerati, who declare love’s supremacy whenever the boy is someone else and the girl is a Hindu (the final test one has to pass to be declared secular in this land of self-flagellation) are maintaining a studied silence. None has spoken so far. None has tried to invoke the wrath of the Women’s Commission, none has bothered to take a delegation of women to Jammu in the name of secularism and its prophets. And none has found it a deserving case for a heated debate on the sparkling channels discussing who should win — love or the colour of your faith?

Why?

Because the girl was a Muslim turned Hindu and the boy, unfortunately happened to be  Hindu. Because the culprit in this case is Srinagar, the reservoir of all that is sacred in secular pantheon and the boy belongs to the Hindu Jammu and hence anything that would demand a condemnation of the Taliban in Srinagar must be held back and forgotten?

The girl, Anchal nee Ameena, said sobbingly in Jammu that the Srinagar police tortured her husband just for his crime of marrying a Muslim girl. The mother of the girl knew about the affair but insisted the boy convert to Islam, which Rajneesh refused. Anchal says Rajneesh was tortured in the police custody putting pressure on him to convert and when he refused consistently, he was murdered. The Jammu papers have reported quoting the postmortem report that police tortured the boy in custody, broke his legs, crushed his knee, gave him electric shocks and peeled his nails before declaring his "suicide". In cold blood.

In Srinagar. In a police post. He was married on August 21, "picked up" without an arrest warrant on September 29 and was found dead in police custody on October 4. Though a magisterial inquiry was ordered, no FIR was lodged till yesterday, that is, October 14, when a chief judicial magistrate in Jammu ordered an inquiry against 11 accused persons in Srinagar.

The Buddhists of Ladakh and the Hindus of Jammu have been complaining for long that Srinagar has become an alien land for them. It discriminates against them on the basis of religion. The Amarnath Shrine agitation is a recent pointer to what Srinagar does to its minorities. The forced exile of half a million Hindus from the valley is another example of the attitude that the only Muslim-majority state of India has exhibited towards non-Muslims. A couple of years before, the Buddhist Association of Ladakh gave a memorandum to the central government. A part of it said:

1. During 1992-99, 24 Buddhist girls from Leh district were converted to Islam and a majority of them were taken to Kargil and Srinagar.

2. Twelve villages with hamlets of Buddhists, comprising 651 families (numbering approximately 5,000) located at 40km to 60km from Kargil town were targeted for conversions. Till 2002, 72 boys and girls were converted to Islam, according to the survey conducted by the Ladakh Buddhist Association.

3. Muslims of Kargil are not allowing the LBA to repair and reconstruct a 40-year-old Gompa comprising three rooms and lying in a shambles.

4. Cremation of dead Buddhists is not allowed at Kargil and the body has to be moved at a remote Buddhist area.

5. No Buddhist sarai is allowed to be constructed at Kargil though there has been a demand for the last 35 years.

6. Kargil has 20% Buddhist population. Yet (a) only one Buddhist was appointed patwari out of 24 patwaris, the rest were all Muslims. (b) In 1998, 40 employees for Class IV were appointed in the education department; out of these only one was Buddhist, that too after his conversion to Islam.

Similar complaints, with proven statistics were given regarding discrimination against Buddhists in the area of Kashmir Administrative Services (KAS), admission to medical and engineering colleges and allocation of development funds received from the central government.

That’s Srinagar.

So who is going to help Anchal? She seems to be a courageous beloved of her "slain" husband and has been facing media crews with grit. She has refused an ex gratia grant by the state government and has demanded a CBI inquiry. The state leaders, who made a beeline to Shopian, have not bothered to say even a word of sympathy, leave aside visiting her.

Her only "crime": she loved Rajneesh.

Yesterday, October 31, was the birth anniversary of Sardar Patel.

The man, who would have been the first Prime Minister of India, chose to accept Gandhi’s advice and remain happy to be Home Minister in Nehru’s cabinet. As history tells us, the Congress held a presidential election in the knowledge that its chosen leader would become India's head of government. Eleven Congress state units nominated Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, while only the Working Committee suggested Nehru. Sensing that Nehru would not accept second place to Patel, Gandhi supported Nehru and asked Patel to withdraw, which he immediately did.

A man of highest personal integrity and a transparent public life, Sardar not only gave us an India without ulcers, but also had Lakshadwep integrated in time, which was eyed by Pakistan immediately after August 15,1947. He had the prudence to send Naval ships to the island, barely informed of the independence, and thwarted a Pakistani Navy attempt to seize the strategically located and almost an ‘out of sight’ island. Our naval ships had seen Pakistani Navy nearing Lakshadweep and had them returned.

Sardar integrated 562 princely states with swiftness and alacrity of a Bismarck.

Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was given the task to have J&K merged. He not only turned it into a permanent pain in the neck but during his reign, we lost 1.25 lakh sq km of Indian land to China and Pakistan. The Survey of India’s map showing the J&K area is incomplete in the sense that we still have to take back the Aksai Chin and Gilgit region from China and Pakistan, which were annexed in 1947-48 by them. And the unpreparedness of India in 1962 is too well known.

A few years ago I had bought a book titled "Inside Story of Sardar Patel: The Diary of Maniben Patel" (Vision books) , which gives vivid details of Sardar’s thoughts and his clarity on various national issues. It’s a dairy written meticulously by his daughter Maniben.

Rathin Das from  Ahmedabad reported this year on July 12, 2011 that the entry in Maniben’s diary on September 20, 1950 says that Sardar told Nehru that the Babri Masjid’s renovation was different from reconstruction of the Somnath Temple for which a trust was set up that raised nearly 30 lakh for the purpose. Government money was not spent on reconstruction of the Somnath Temple, Sardar told Nehru following which the Prime Minister kept quiet, Maniben’s diary notes on September 20, 1950.

As Sardar Patel’s wife, Zaverba, died very early, Maniben had taken up the multiple roles as daughter, secretary, washerwoman and nurse to the ‘Iron Man’ till his death on December 12, 1950. Since 1936, Maniben had started maintaining a diary in which she recorded her illustrious father’s daily events and comments.

Another entry, on September 13, 1950, quotes Ghanshyamdas Birla as saying “Nehru’s whole family would have embraced Islam if they had not come in contact with Gandhiji.”

Particulary significant are Sardar’s views on Communists, Muslims and the conversion of Hindus as chronicled by Maniben. It says, Nehru tried to go soft on the Hyderabad action, apparently to appease Muslims. But the Sardar told C Rajgopalachari in no uncertain terms that nothing would stop him from pursuing strong action to remove 'an ulcer', and that Nehru should remain within his limits. The diary says: ‘‘Sardar Patel bluntly told Rajaji that he would not want the future generations to blame and curse him for allowing an ulcer in the heart of India. On one side is western Pakistan and on the other side eastern Pakistan (with their idea of (a) pan-Islamic bloc...(they want to) come to Delhi and establish the Mughal empire again. Once we enter Hyderabad, it is no longer an international affair. It is the State Ministry’s function. How long are you and Panditji going to bypass the Ministry of the States and carry on?’’ (September 13, 1948).

Patel's hold over the Congress party organization was certainly greater. Nehru considered Sardar a rival who could dethrone him. Maniben's diary, however, reveals that Patel had no such ambition, particularly after he had given his word to Gandhi. Upon the Patel-Nehru differences played many others, notably Rafi Ahmed Kidwai, the socialists, and even Maulana Azad. The diary reveals their manoeuvrings to oust Sardar from the Cabinet. Significantly, Nehru consistently ignored the many allegations of corruption against Kidwai, a fact that puzzled many Congress leaders.

The Sardar was happy to see Guruji Golwalkar, the then RSS chief, released from jail and wanted to welcome RSS workers in the Congress. On August 3, 1949, says the diary: ‘‘Glad at release of Golwalkar—ready to welcome in Congress. Bapu’s (Sardar’s) task to make their entry easy.’’  Today,  the Congress laments that Osama was not given a fair burial, but won’t say a word on the atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh. The Sardar reacted differently under similar circumstances. Maniben records: ‘‘Sardar Patel was not happy with the Nehru-Liaquat Ali Pact as it did not stop the exodus of Hindus from East Pakistan which went on increasing and a large number of Hindus continued to migrate to India. Sardar Patel observed that he was not so much worried about the killings, after all 30 lakh people had died in the Bengal famine, but he could not stand assaults on women and their forcible conversion to Islam... (April 5, 1950).

The Sardar further said: ‘‘Hindus had been totally finished in Sind, Punjab, Baluchistan and Frontier Provinces. It was being repeated in East Pakistan and people like Hafizur Rehman, who had stayed on in India, would be clamouring for (a) homeland in India. What would be our position then? Our posterity would call us traitors.’’ (April 24, 1950)

Sardar Patel did not trust the Communists either. He told M O Mathai, Nehru’s Special Assistant, ‘‘if we have to build up the nation, Communists would have no place there.’’ (September 13, 1948).’’

He didn’t know that though his photo would be used on the Congress manifesto, and that the same people would join hands with the Communists whom he had despised most.

Interestingly, Maniben mentions in her diary that Sardar had one common goal with Savarkar. They differed on several issues but both of them wanted the ‘‘four crore Muslims in India to be loyal to the country; otherwise there was no place for them (August 16, 1949).’’

The diary says, ‘‘Sardar Patel was very unhappy that Nehru had taken the Kashmir issue to the UN which tied India’s hands. His idea was that India should extricate itself from the UN patiently and then solve the Kashmir problem forever. He was also unhappy when reports came that the fertile land left behind in Jammu by Muslim zamindars who had migrated to Pakistan was not being given to Hindu refugees. Instead, the Sheikh was insisting on settling only Muslim refugees on such land (May 1, 1949)... (there were reports) that the majority  of government employees were pro-Pakistani.’’

Nehru was a close friend of Sheikh Abdullah, while the Sardar didn’t trust him at all. The diary reveals that even Bakshi Ghulam Mohammad, former prime minister of Kashmir, felt that the Sardar could have solved Kashmir if Nehru had not intervened. ‘‘Bakshi Ghulam Mohammad, on the other hand, was insisting that the Sardar should settle the Kashmir  issue as he had done Hyderabad. But Nehru would not allow it. Iyengar reported that the Sheikh wanted to have an independent Kashmir. Upon hearing this, the Sardar said he would ask the Maharaja to return to Jammu as he did not place any trust in Sheikh Abdullah (May 12, 1949).’’

Maniben also refers to a discussion about the possibility of the partition of Kashmir, which involved India retaining Jammu and handing over the rest of the state to Pakistan. Patel retorted: ‘‘We want the entire territory... and battle for the whole of Kashmir” (July 23, 1949).

సోనియా అండదండలతోనే దిగ్విజయ్ ఆరోపణలు - బిజెపి ధ్వజం

న్యూఢిల్లీ, అక్టోబర్ 31: కాంగ్రెస్ అధ్యక్షురాలు అండదండలు పూర్తిగా ఉండబట్టే ఎఐసిసి ప్రధాన కార్యదర్శి దిగ్విజయ్‌సింగ్ ఏది మాట్లాడినా చెల్లిపోతోంది బిజెపి విరుచుకుపడింది. అందుకే ఎవరిపై బడితే వారిపైనే దిగ్విజయ్ ఆరోపణలకు దిగుతున్నారని బిజెపి అధికార ప్రతినిధి ప్రకాశ్ జావడేకర్ ధ్వజమెత్తారు. అన్నాహజారే, బాబారాందేవ్, రవిశంకర్‌లు బిజెపి మూడు తోకలంటూ ఆయన చేసిన వ్యాఖ్యలు కాంగ్రెస్ అమలు చేస్తున్న వ్యూహంలో భాగమని జావడేకర్ విమర్శించారు. అధినేత్రి ఆశీస్సులుండబట్టే దిగ్విజయ్‌పై క్రమశిక్షణ చర్యలు తీసుకోవడం లేదని ఆయన అన్నారు. అనేక సందర్భాల్లో సింగ్ వ్యక్తం చేసిన అభిప్రాయాలతో పార్టీ ఏకీభవించటం లేదని, అవి పూర్తిగా వ్యక్తిగతమని కాంగ్రెస్ అధికారికంగా ప్రకటించిన విషయాన్ని ఆయన గుర్తుచేశారు. ప్రత్యర్థులపై బురదజల్లే కాంగ్రెస్ తన సొంత
ముఖ్యమంత్రులు, కేంద్ర మంత్రులు పాల్పడుతున్న అవినీతిపై ఎందుకు వౌనం వహిస్తోందని బిజెపి నేత ప్రశ్నించారు.

సాక్షాత్తు ప్రధాని మన్మోహన్‌సింగ్ నియమించిన షుంగ్లూ కమిటీ సైతం కామనె్వల్త్ క్రీడల నిర్వహణలో జరిగిన
అవినీతితో ఢిల్లీ ముఖ్యమంత్రి షీలా దీక్షిత్‌కు సంబంధం ఉందని చెప్పినప్పటికీ ఆమెను ఎలా కొనసాగనిస్తున్నారో కాంగ్రెస్ వివరణ ఇవ్వాలని ఆయన డిమాండ్ చేశారు. 2జి స్పెక్ట్రమ్ కుంభకోణంతో అప్పటి ఆర్థిక మంత్రి చిదంబరానికి సంబంధం ఉన్నట్లు రుజువైనా పదవిన పట్టుకుని వేలాడడం సరైనదేనా? అని ఆయన అన్నారు. టుజి స్పెక్ట్రమ్ సొమ్ము నుంచి కొంత మొత్తం కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీ నాయకత్వానికి ముట్టినందునే చిదంబరం పదవిలో కొనసాగుతున్నారని జావడేకర్ తీవ్ర ఆరోపణ చేశారు. కాగా డిసెంబర్ నాటికి ధరలు తగ్గుతాయని ఆర్థిక మంత్రి ప్రణబ్ ముఖర్జీ చేసిన ప్రకటనను ఆయన ఎద్దేవా చేశారు. ప్రణబ్ రెండేళ్ళుగా ఇదే మాట చెబుతున్నారని ఆయన అన్నారు.

జమ్మూకాశ్మీర్ భారత దేశంలో అంతర్భాగంగా కొనసాగితీరాలన్న విషయంలో బిజెపి రాజీపడబోదని ఆయన స్పష్టం చేశారు.
