teesta setalvadKarnavati, November 15 : Muslim Associates of the infamous activist Teesta Setalvad are threatening her one time close aide Rais Khan Pathan and ordering him to 'stop working against Setalvad and Muslims’. This has been allegeded by Rais Khan himself through an affidavit submitted on 22 October 2011 urging the Chief Justice of Mumbai High Court for intervention regarding ‘threats to his life’, News Bharati sources revealed.

Rais Khan received several missed calls on his cell number from an unidentified number on 14 October. After Pathan called on that number he was answered by an office bearer of the ‘Jamiat Ulema-i-Hind’ from Tarapur. The caller threatened Rais Khan to stop ‘working against Teesta Setalvad and Muslims’ or face the ‘unimaginable’ consequences.
As Rais Khan has stated, on the same day, 6-7 persons, all Muslims rushed in his house at Karnavati (Ahmadabad) and started arguing that Pathan was working against the ‘Muslim community’ and spoiling the ‘good work’ of Setalvad. They threatened him to immediately ‘compromise with Teesta madam’ or face consequences.

Rais Khan’s wife was also pressurised by a group of burkha-clad women to restrain her husband from doing ‘anti-community’ things. The threatening trail continued on the same day as a group of people approached Rais Khan and alleged that he has became ‘an agent of Hindus’ and spoiling the work of Teesta Setalvad.
On the same day one caller from Mumbai ordered Pathan to go to Mumbai to compromise with Teesta Setalvad and stop whatever he is doing which is the ‘benefit of the Hindus’. After this call, Rais Khan got several calls in similar manner.

In his affidavit submitted to the Chief Justice of the Mumbai High Court, Rais Khan Pathan has claimed the that his life is in danger and has clearly stated that, Teesta Setalvad, through her links with Muslim Fundamentalist organisations is trying to stop him to speak the truth about her various wrong doings.
Rais Khan Pathan had earlier (26 September 2011) pleaded the Chief Justice of Maharashtra to direct appropriate court in Mumbai for re-trial of the Best Bakery case and more importantly to separately record the statements of all witnesses without ‘help’ of any NGO or person. Teesta Setalvad is already facing continuous humiliation as her former confidants have revealed her activities to vilify Gujarat CM Narendra Modi and the Government of Gujarat.

Interestingly Rais Khan Pathan had also insisted for a ‘lie detector test’ of himself as well as for Teesta Setalvad to bring the truth before the Court and the society as well.
