Beijing, November 8: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi is in China on a five-day goodwill visit, which he is expected to use to explore opportunities for Chinese investments in his state.It is reported by the news agency.
Modi, who was invited by the ruling Communist Party China (CPC), who arrived here on Tuesday, would also be visiting Shanghai and Chengdu during his stay.
Modi is the third BJP Chief Minister to visit China in recent months after B S Yeddyurappa and Shivraj Singh Chauhan.
He would interact with the Chinese leadership and meet top Chinese businessmen to explore opportunities for Chinese investments in Gujarat.
He would address a seminar here tomorrow being organised by the Indian Embassy along with the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products (CCCM).
He would later visit another similar business event in Chengdu. It is being arranged.
Former Karnataka CM Yeddyurappa visited China earlier to scout for investment opportunities followed recently by Madhya Pradesh CM Chouhan.
It was reported earlier that Bihar Chief Minster, Nitish Kumar too visited China recently to study various development projects.
