BJP National Secretary Shri Kirit Somaiya regarding Common Wealth Games

CWG – One year over 6 Dozens Investigations on
One year is over to the Common Wealth Games 2010, Six dozen investigations going on.  According to the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) response to RTI of BJP National Secretary Dr. Kirit Somaiya CVC, CBI investigating 72 cases of grafts

The complaints investigation varies from

* Alleged irregularities in tenders         * Irregularities in purchase / procurement
* Construction of Roads, Under Bridges, Bridges, Flyovers
* Up-gradation of Street Lighting        * Falsification of accounts
* Poor quality / irregularities in the construction
* Manipulation in testing of samples    * Construction of  Games Village
* Alleged irregularities in awarding contracts
* Improvement / Up-gradation constructions of Stadiums
* Financial irregularities / misappropriation of funds / embezzlement
* Malpractices in selection process     * Corruption and misappropriation
* Sponsorship Procurements

The investigation covers a dozen of ministry / authorities.  The CVC response to Dr. Somaiya says that apart from one all other 72 investigations are still going on.  Action can not be taken till final information / report received from the concerned department.

Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh immidiately after CWG appointed Shunglu Committee & announced “No Body would be spared.”
 
Dr. Somaiya says after one year every body is spared except Kalmadi.   Action seen limited to the corruption cases related to Organizing Committee.  All other Dozen Ministry / authorities spared by the congress Govt.
