Kishan Reddy faults MIM T-stand

The state BJP president, Mr G. Kishan Reddy, on Wednesday accused the MIM of trying to scare the Centre against granting statehood to Telangana. “The MIM says the BJP will get strengthened if Telangana is carved out. Why not? We will strengthen the party and I am confident the BJP will rule the state. Is Telangana in India, Italy or Pakistan,” he fumed. Addressing the Jan Chetna Yatra led by Mr L.K. Advani at the Exhibition Grounds here, he asserted that no one could stop formation of Telangana. “We are for bifurcation of the state and are not against any region. The Centre promised Telangana and went back on it,” he added.

Mr Kishan Reddy said if Telangana is carved out MIM’s goondaism would be checked. Recalling that the BJP-led NDA government had smoothly carved out three states, he said people of Telangana want a separate state and their aspirations would be fulfilled by the BJP. “We separate like brothers. Anybody can stay in Hyderabad. There should be no ill-will among people of regions,” he said.
